Continuing from October 2023 - April 11th, 2024, Maier Museum of Art at Randolph College’s 112th Annual Exhibition – Back to Front: Artists’ Books by Women is showing two of my titles in the their incredibly rich and wonder artist book show! January 3rd - 31st - Nature and the Book: An Exhibition of Puget Sound Book Artists at the Elizabeth C. Miller Library, UW, Seattle. Two of my titles are in the show: Soil Dwellers 2015, Root Leaf, and Flower 2017, Erotica Botanica 2010.
July 13th - I was invited to curate this solo show —Kumi Korf: A World of Her Own. Opens at the New York Center for Book Arts. I am grateful to Kumi for inviting me to curate her work, spend time with her, her family, and community in Ithaca, NY. The show is up through Spetmeber 9th, 2023. Info is here.
July 4 - September 2nd - We’re Here We’re Queer Letterpress Group Show. Held at Zygote Press included work from Zyrna Press printed. Zyrna Press is me plus my nibling Felix collaborating to print queer positive broadsides and related material.
September 7th - October 30th - The Book as Art Myth and Magic at the Decautar Library, GA. “Humans possess a fundamental attraction to stories and storytelling. Folktales, fairy tales, and myths are foundational narratives that bridge the secular and the spiritual and merge the factual with the fantastical. Myths and magic transport us and bind us together in the world of imagination.” I couldn’t agree more! Two of my titles were curated into the show! — Sola: A Mythical Story About a Real Girl, 2016 and Fatal Fairy, 2017.
November 13 – Artist’s talk. 11 a.m. BIMA auditorium. I will talk about nature, domesticity, menopause, the invisibility of older women, and reinventing arts practices throughout one’s life. BIMA requires proof of full COVID-19 vaccination for all attendees of programs held in the Frank Buxton Auditorium or BIMA Classroom. November 13 – Printing with Wood. BIMA classroom 2-4:30 pm. Join me in process and play, printing on paper using cut sections of wood. Drop in to the classroom and experiment with printing using rounds and lengths of wood in a variety of shapes, colors and patterns. Exposed growth rings and grain will reveal the inner story of the tree as well as surprises and discoveries. No prior printing experience necessary. All materials provided. Info here.

This was the year I could not keep up, mentally or physically, with events of the world or my personal life. There were professional shows and talks, but like for many of you, it was too much to stay on top of my website. We lost family to Covid, and despaired over national and world events. In September 2020 I was hired to be the Assistant Director of the Cynthia Sears Collection of Artist’s Books. It has transformed my already wonderful life into a magical fairytale. You can see some of what I’ve been doing in this new role here.

March 8 & 9 - June 9th are the official dates for Open Sesame: The Magic of Artist’s Books Revealed: a huge book arts show showcasing the private collection of Cynthia Sears as she passes the collection into the hands of Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA).
March 2 & 3 - Bainbridge Island Museum of Art is holding a book arts fair called DogEar. I’ll be vending both days.

April 22, Earth Day – Print Action at Craft in America Center, Los Angeles. I'll be in there in celebration of the premier of the "Nature" episode by Craft in America with presses inked and ready to make your own keepsake or sign for the march! 12:30pm and on until we run out of people and paper.
April 21st, 10pm* – PBS airs Craft in America's "Nature" episode in which I am featured and Bill makes an elegant appearance. You can also view several shorts of Bill and I at Craft in America's website! *local air time may be different.

November 10th – LocaLoops: A Direct Animation Projection Performance by Crackpot Crafters. Presented by The Olympia Film Festival & The Evergreen State College. Start time TBA. "Emerging from the ground unpredictably, like mushrooms from mycelium, LocaLoops is the immersive manifestation of Crackpot Crafters’ work in direct animation, a weird, wonderful, subversive, DIY, technologically-dumpster-diving genre of filmmaking presented via multiple projectors, screens adapted from a variety of materials, and live sound accompaniment." This manifestation of LocaLoops takes advantage of the big white box of The Evergreen State College’s Seminar II E4115 Critique Space and will feature film and sound work by Olympians from inside and outside Evergreen. Join us for this eye-popping one-time event. Admission is free, parking is $3, and the event is accessible from downtown via the #41 and 48 bus lines.

March 31- July 29th –Just One Look: an exhibition of contemporary book arts exploring the theme of women and vision. Special Collections, Allen Library, University of Washington, Seattle, WA. This show will premier my newest edition work, Sola, commissioned for the occasion. Sola is letterpress printed with hand set type and pressure printed images. This show features a select group of NW and nationally known book artists. Make sure you get at least one look. A very comprehensive catalogue will be available from this show.
March 9th - April 6th – The Story Depends on the Teller: Book Arts in the Pacific NW. Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, WA. Curated by Mare Blocker. Includes two pieces: Inanna: In Celebration of Darkness and Three Sisters. Two letterpress printed pieces based on myths.
March 14th, 7pm – 35 is Alive! Direct animation in cinematic 35mm glory, presented by Crackpot Crafters and OFS Film School at the Capitol Theater, Olympia, WA. These events are such a blast! I will be bringing some newly made 35mm loops that are both letterpress printed and machine sewn.
